ProactiveVA TB Series: Contingency Planning – Sociological Considerations

What safeguards do you have in place for your business? Have you documented your business to allow someone to “fill your shoes” in your absence? Are you thinking of adding team members, but worry that they will complete assignments to your standards? The VAinsider Club is excited to introduce the “Thriving Business Accountability Group.” The purpose of this group is to work as a group to complete a business procedure manual and begin the daunting task of documenting your business. The overwhelming task of documenting your business will be broken into smaller areas of your business to provide you with a focus and the ability to break this large task into manageable sections.

Description: In the third of our contingency planning series we will talk about the sociological aspects of contingency planning. We will look at how society and their actions can affect your business and provide you with the tools to prepare some solid contingency plans to ensure your business can survive an ever changing society.

Yvonne Weld, the author of The Ultimate Guide to Creating a Thriving Business, has generously offered her time to lead this group and provide her experience and expertise as you work to complete your procedure manual. Purpose: To work together to develop our processes – by providing accountability, participants are more likely to work on the task and by the end of the eighteen months (or sooner) their process manual would be completed. Requirements of Participants:

  • Meet monthly to discuss/brainstorm the topic from the previous meeting/call. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and work together to ensure that the information has been completed. These questions would need to be general in nature as we cannot have someone dominating the call with a question specific to their individual business.
  • I will then present on the topic and assign tasks to work on over the next two weeks.
  • These monthly calls are 1 hour in length and held in the conference room.
  • Participants would need to be willing to commit to putting the work together before each call.

Opportunities available:

  • Should a participant want to have an outside brainstorming call with me on specific questions or concerns with their individual business these would be available as per my scheduling availability.
  • Normal brainstorming calls would cost $50.00 but for participants the fee would be $40.00. These calls are 30-45 minutes long.
